Multiple Shops at Zazzle

With the recent changes to Zazzle’s system- reducing two Affiliate programmes and rates to one (and now charging ShopKeepers a portion of the Affiliate payment) and the addition of a published Volume Bonus- they have set up a system to allow ShopKeepers to combine sales from various shops for the purpose of that Volume Bonus.

Each store maintains it’s own log-in, image basket, etc. Since both CafePress and Zazzle give us limited ability to organize image baskets, having separate ones for each Shop name is one way to limit the number of files to go through. It does mean that if you want to use an image at more than one Zazzle shop (see note on duplication to follow) you will have to upload it to each shop. I suspect that is not very common, so I’d say that’s not a big inconvenience. I haven’t tried logging in to multiple shops in different tabs of the same browser session so I don’t know if the issues commonly reported at CP are possible or frequent.

The new Zazzle Volume Bonus is covered in this post – here is a quick overview of how to group Shops together for that Bonus.

First- pick a store to be your Master account for VB and log in. Actually, this is used only after you’ve created other shops- at least get the name booked and the password set. And you can go back any time after you create a shop and add it to the Master Account.

Then, once you’ve logged in to the Master Account,
click on “MyZazzle” along the top (under the “Welcome ’shopnamehere’ “) -
then click on the “Earnings” tab (see “A” above) –
then click on “Volume Bonus” near the top of the left nav bar (see “B” above) –
look for the large block on the right side of the page with the heading “Have more than one Zazzle account?” (see “C” above) –
you can then add the UserName (Shop name) and Password for each additional shop –
click the “Add” button after each one and watch the combined sales add up.

My notes on running multiple shops at CafePress are in this post.

Update: July 2009 Now that Zazzle is operating geographic sites (sites with country domains and local currencies; British Pound, Euro, Canadian Dollar, Australian Dollar) they are tracking each site’s sales separately. Just as your general mark-ups (”royalties”) are not combined across various shops to reach payment threshold, your Volume Bonus does not combine across currencies. In other words, if you sell $80 (base) in US$ across your shops, and the foreign equivalent of US$50 through the geographic sites, you won’t get any Volume Bonus. Even if all the sales were from the same shop.
